And it's getting so serious
Crush my heart in pieces
But I know I'm not alone in wanting peace

Political Stance: She is definitely all-in for the Order of the Phoenix; despite growing up in a pure family, she believes that there is no difference in people's blood, and while she does not believe that the Ministry is wrong, she believes that it is somewhat outdated (particularly in its classification of werewolves as "beasts"). She is most definitely opposed to Lord Voldemort and his followers, and she believes that the Order is the best way to keep him from taking over the wizarding world.

PERSONALITY
Likes: Frank, cats, flowers (particularly daisies and sunflowers), strawberries, Frank, chocolate, mint-flavoured ice cream, peppermint toads, Frank, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, Honeydukes Fudge, bouillabaisse (her paternal grandparents prepare it every time Alice and her family visit them in Marseille), hot tea with honey, dancing, Frank, children, watching the rain (preferably from inside where it's cozy, warm, and dry), Frank's smile, Frank, Frank, Frank.
Dislikes: Pumpkin (in food or beverage), overly spicy foods, Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans (there's too many of the gross flavours and not enough of the good ones), people who intentionally harm others, mice, coffee.
Greatest Fear: Frank dying. This extends to her family and close friends, but a Boggart would most definitely show her a dead Frank.
Greatest Wish: For the war to be over (with the good side winning and You-Know-Who being vanquished), and for Frank and herself to be safe, happy, healthy, and married.

General Personality: Alice is a cheerful, sweet, charming young woman with an amazingly big optimistic side and practically no bad side to speak of. She is the kind of squeaky-clean girl that all parents want to have, the polite and chivalrous girl who always has a ready ear to talk to and shoulder to cry on. She likes to look on the shiny and happy side of life, determined to find the upside to every down, the silver lining to every dark cloud. This is, of course, growing harder and harder to do as the war bears on and more people die or go missing. Her steadfast belief in what she is fighting for, however, keeps her going. Unfortunately, her trusting and open-hearted nature also leaves her open to possibly placing trust in the wrong people.

She is also sentimental to a fault and a hopeless, incurable romantic. Her fiancé, Frank, is like her knight in shining armour. Not that she's a damsel in distress, but he is definitely her rock. She dreams big, and most of her dreams have always centered around helping people and making the world a better place -- for everyone, not just pureblood wizards, and that everyone does include other beings such as werewolves, house elves, centaurs, merpeople, et cetera. It is because of this that she chose to go into healing (in her final years at Hogwarts, she was seriously torn between applying at St. Mungo's or applying to become an Auror), more specifically on the creature-induced injuries floor.

Alice has two traits that aren't particularly good ones to have during war times such as these: she is both idealistic and a bit of a pacifist. She holds out hope that reason will work with the Death Eaters (and with convincing the Ministry that werewolves don't deserve to be classified as 'beasts'), although even she knows that her hopes are quite in vain. She is also loathe to use deadly force on anyone, preferring defensive and less-harmful offensive spells. Unfortunately, she's beginning to see that her idealism and pacifism are a dangerous mix -- that is, dangerous to herself and her loved ones.

But she wasn't sorted into Gryffindor for nothing. Alice displays the typical Gryffindor trait of bravery, though it is tempered by her tendency to think things through before leaping into action (not always, mind, as she will sometimes dive into things if there just isn't time to think, but she does prefer to think things through before jumping in), so she is not quite the foolhardy Gryffindor type. She has a backbone, though, and she's not afraid to display it. Alice stands her ground, she will not buckle. She doesn't tend to handle stress all too well, though. She has a tendency to bake -- and bake a lot -- when she's stressed, and if she can't bake for whatever reason, she frets and worries and it takes her longer to think things through because worry and doubts just take over her mind.

History: Marc Sauveterre met Rebecca Banges in a rather odd locale: the women's loo of a restaurant in a small wizarding village just outside of Paris, France, in the summer of 1951, where Rebecca was vacationing with her boyfriend, Damien Miller, and Marc was visiting his fiancée, Aimée Duchard. Aimée had fallen ill, and Marc had gone with her into the loo, where he ran into Rebecca, who was washing her hands at the sink. Although both were in the restaurant with their respective signficant others, sparks flew between the two. Two years later, after both relationships had fallen apart, Marc and Rebecca ran into each other again in Marc's hometown of Marseille. This time, the young French barrister and British photographer spent some time talking and getting to know each other. Less than a year later, Marc transferred from the French Ministry of Magic to the British one, and he moved to London with his new bride.

Their first child, a daughter whom they named Alice Charlotte, was born on 8 July, 1955. They were thrilled to have a child, and doted upon her, showering her with love and affection, such that she grew up in a very loving and warm environment, which helped shape her into a very loving and warm child. Marc and Rebecca felt as though their lives were quite busy enough, too busy to keep up with more than one child, so Alice remained an only child throughout her childhood.

Shortly after her eleventh birthday in 1966, Alice received letters both from her mother's alma mater of Hogwarts as well as from her father's alma mater of Beauxbatons. After much discussion that summer, the family agreed to send Alice to Hogwarts. So, on 1 September, 1966, Alice boarded the Hogwarts Express, which took her off to Scotland for her first year. At the welcome feast and sorting, Alice was a bit nervous as she watched the other first years being sorted into the various houses. Her mother had told her all about the school, and about the sorting ceremony, and about the various houses, particularly her own: Hufflepuff. Alice knew that her mother hoped that she would be sorted into Hufflepuff, as well, but a part of her actually hoped for Gryffindor. She felt like she was brave enough for it. Perhaps the Sorting Hat read those thoughts in her head and granted her her choice, or perhaps Gryffindor truly was the best fit for her; regardless, while the Hat did comment that she would do well in either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, it ultimately called out "Gryffindor!" for her.

Alice's early years at Hogwarts were rather unremarkable: she did well in her classes (thanks to a desire to do well that drove her to study hard), she made friends, and she was just a typical student. The summer between her fourth and fifth years came with two big surprises: one, her parents announced that Rebecca was pregnant again (this time with twins), and two, when her Hogwarts owl arrived with her books list, it was accompanied by a Prefect's badge. Despite having been an only child for fifteen years, Alice was excited about the prospect of having baby brothers or sisters (or one of each). On 8 December, 1970, Alice's twin brothers were born, David and Henri. When she came home for winter holidays, she was thrilled to meet her brothers. By the time she came home again for the summer holidays, the twins were nearly seven months old and already crawling. Although she had never really spent too much time with young children before her brothers were born, she came to absolutely love babies and little children.

When it came time to choose her N.E.W.T.-level classes, Alice knew exactly which classes she wanted to take: those required for admittance to the Healer programme at St. Mungo's. Although she was still torn, at that time, between the idea of being a Healer and the idea of being an Auror, the class requirements were essentially the same, so as long as she strove toward the Healer goal, the Auror one would still remain in her grasp, should she change her mind. Ultimately, she chose the Healer path, believing that she could help people more that way than as an Auror. Her seventh year, she was named Head Girl, and she managed to get letters of recommendation for the Healer Programme from both Professors McGonagall and Flitwick. After finishing school in the summer of 1973 with high marks on her N.E.W.T.s, Alice was accepted into the Healer programme and began the basic training that fall. She finished her training in April 1977, and began working as a fully-trained Healer on the Creature-Induced Injuries floor.

Meanwhile, through most of this, there was Frank Longbottom. He was also in Gryffindor, though he was a year ahead of her. They first met through the sheer fact of the matter of being in the same house and sharing a common room. Frank became more visible, at least to Alice, when he was made a Prefect in her fourth year; when she joined him in the ranks the following year, they became friends. It wasn't until Frank's seventh year and Alice's sixth that things started to change and they grew closer. They started dating (officially) that summer, a relationship that turned into a long-distance one when Alice returned to Hogwarts in September and Frank began his Auror training. They owled back and forth frequently, he visited her on Hogsmeade weekends, and they saw each other when Alice was home for the holidays, but Alice found herself counting down the days until the end of the school year, when she would be done with Hogwarts and be able to see Frank more often.

As Alice began her healer training at St. Mungo's and Frank moved into his second year of Auror training, the two continued dating. When Frank became a full Auror (instead of just a trainee), she was nearly bursting with pride for him. She knew that he would be a great Auror, possibly the greatest the Ministry had ever seen. Around that time, Alice was approached by Professor Dumbledore (who had also approached Frank) with an opportunity to join the Order of the Phoenix. The prospect of helping people in addition to healing them, of possibly making a real change, was one that Alice couldn't turn down, and she accepted the opportunity without any hesitation. About a year and a half later, when Alice and Frank were celebrating the end of her healer training, Alice was pleasantly surprised when Frank brought out an engagement ring and proposed. Alice knew that there was nobody else she wanted to spend her life with and that Frank was the man she wanted to grow old with, to see every morning and every night, to raise a family with. Alice accepted his proposal with a joyous "YES!" and the ring hasn't left her finger yet.

Now, with their September wedding (after a two-year engagement) fast approaching, as well as the war brewing around them, Alice is full of stress and anxiety, but she knows that it will all be worth it when she walks down the aisle with Frank waiting for her at the other end. Even the war and the Order are going to have to take a backseat for at least a day. And while one day Alice wants to have plenty of children with Frank, she also wants to wait until the world isn't so tumultuous.
